The women's Tuesday afternoon Bible Class begins for the 2009-2010 season on September 8, meeting at the home of Pastor and Carol Heimsoth. Carol will be leading "God's Answers to Modern Problems", a study based on the book of Habakkuk.
This study will find God's answer to the ever-perplexing question - why does God permit evil? - and will help to find an understanding of God's lordship and governance of the world, the cause of evil and the place of faith. The group will apply the insight gained to lives today, reading thie prophet's timeless message that rings clear and true with many parallels between Habakkuk's historical setting and society today. Come and gain assurance that those who believe in Christ shall be sustained in all afflictions and inherit eternal life.
This Wednesday morning Bible Study and social time reconvenes for the year on September 9 beginning at 9 a.m. The study will focus on the Gospel of John. Jesus speaks to our lives in this message of Good News. Don't worry about the passages - this Bible study moves sequentially through the Gospel of John, a chapter at a time.
Each Wednesday, the schedule is: 9-9:30 a.m. - Bible study on the Gospel of John 9:30-10 a.m. - break for "coffee and" 10-10:30 a.m. - Bible study on the Gospel of John
This Thursday night Bible study group was sponsored by the Mary Martha Guild and is on hiatus for the 2009-2010 school year and will resume in the summer of 2010 on alternate weeks at 7:30 p.m. at the Villa Park home of Judy Cuchetto. In the meantime, there are spiritual opportunities each month at the Mary Martha Guild meeting. Email Judy with questions about the monthly devotions or Bible studies.
