Trinity Lutheran Church & School

Rev. Patrick Boomhower began his call at Trinity on March 1, 2008. Pastor Boomhower came to Trinity from his most recent posting at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  Prior to that he served as the Senior Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Lombard, Illinois.  He came to the Chicago area after serving Lutheran congregations in San Antonio, Texas, and Houghton, Michigan, where he was also the Campus Chaplain at Michigan Technological Institute.  His seminary education was completed in 1993 at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and his undergraduate degree is from the University of Colorada in Boulder.  He served as a judicial clerk before pursuing a vocation in the ministry.

In 2008, Rev. Elton Heimsoth returned to Trinity to serve as Pastor Emeritis.  Pastor Heimsoth had served as Trinity's sole pastor from 1971 through 1997, and as Senior Pastor from 1997 until his retirement in the summer of 1998.  He emerged from retirement in October 1999 to fill the position of Vacancy Pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Westchester, where he served until February 2006.  Pastor Heimsoth entered the ministry after graduating in 1963 from Concordia Theological Seminary, which was then located in Springfield, Illinois. In addition to his ongoing ministry at Trinity, Pastor Heimsoth continues to serve as Guest Pastor one weekend a month at Faith.

Mr. Paul Frese serves as Trinity's music director.  In addition to working with the pastoral staff to plan the music and liturgy for each service at Trinity, Mr. Frese also directs the Adult Choir and Senior Handbells at Trinity. He has faithfully served both churches and schools in Lutheran Education and Music Ministry since he graduated in 1963 with degrees in Education and Music from Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska.
