Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Lombard served as the site for three SHINE Servant Projects as part of the Northern Illinois District SHINE weeks. What a blessing to serve and SHINE.

Trinity's Mary Martha Guild and Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) group welcomed women from Bethany/Naperville, Divine Shepherd/Bolingbrook, Immanuel/Elmhurst, St. John/Lombard, St. John/Wheaton, Trinity/Lisle, Trinity/West Chicago, and Zion/Bensenville, to a fund raising lunch supporting Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries' new Illinois maternity home. To SHINE, the group tied fleece blankets for babies and assembled "pamper" kits for new and expectant moms. Learn more about the maternity home HERE.

Trinity's students and teachers invited the community to a free International Celebration Day, where there showcased the things that they learned studying other countries and cultures.  There were educational displays, activities, games, and delicious treats from all over the world. To SHINE, students and visitors colored encouragement cards for international missionaries and gathered school supplies for Liberian School Children through Liberian Children's Mission, operated by long-time Trinity friend, missionary Joe Boway. Trinity welcomed the Northern Illinois District Communicators and Admission Counselors Group for their bimonthly meeting, where ACTS on Mission presented the ministry to the TriCities area of Batavia-Elgin-Geneva. To SHINE, group members made birthday prayer bracelets for homeless teens at risk, writing notes of encouragement, and praying for the recipients of each bracelet.
